.. another new author, to bring us special stories!
Award-winning digital first publisher HarperImpulse are thrilled to announce the acquisition of bestselling self-published contemporary romance author Janice Horton. Editorial Director Charlotte Ledger bought World All Language rights after approaching the author about writing a novel loosely based on Janice’s own experiences. The Backpacking Housewife is a fun, heartwarming and inspiring novel about an ordinary woman who ups and leaves her life for a round the world trip full of romance and adventure.
Janice Horton writes contemporary romantic fiction with a dash of humour and a sense of adventure. In 2014, after her children had left home, Janice and her husband set off to explore the Caribbean. In 2015, they returned to the UK only to sell their material possessions in favour of travelling around the world. They are currently housesitting in France after travelling around South East Asia.
Charlotte Ledger, Editorial Director at HarperImpulse, said: ‘I first met Janice at the Festival of Romance in 2013 and fell in love with her writing. It’s been a thrill to follow her around the world on social media and see where she ends up next and I really admire her and her husband for taking that brave leap to leave behind the UK in search of adventures abroad. The Backpacking Housewife is full of Janice’s own travel experiences and, coupled with her brilliantly commercial writing, makes for a thoroughly entertaining and inspiring read.’
Janice Horton said: ‘My world is literally spinning right now because I’m so thrilled to be writing for HarperImpulse – the innovative and forward-thinking HarperCollins imprint that is taking romance writing to adventurous new levels in the digital reading world. I feel I couldn’t be in better editorial hands than with wonderful Charlotte Ledger (Publisher of the Year this year at the RNA Industry Awards in London) and her fabulous team of editors and editorial assistants and digital marketing professionals at HarperImpulse. I’m so excited for 2018!’
Please do give Janice a lovely warm HarperImpulse welcome as she joins our midst! She can be found on Twitter here.
